North Korean Air Force: Current and Former Aircraft
Overview
As of 2024, the North Korean Air Force is estimated to possess approximately 570 combat aircraft, 200 helicopters, and a few transporters. The majority of these aircraft are decades-old Soviet and Chinese models.
Current Aircraft
The following is a list of the current aircraft in service with the North Korean Air Force:
- Attack bombers: MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-29
- Cargo transports: Il-76, An-2, An-24, An-26
- Special mission aircraft: Tu-134, Tu-154, Il-62
- Fighters: MiG-29, Su-25, Su-30
- Search and rescue aircraft: Mi-8, Mi-17
- Aerial tankers: Il-78
- Remotely piloted aircraft: Unknown
