Raisman Reflects on Own Struggles and Joys of Olympic Competition
Former Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman has expressed her understanding and support for Jordan Chiles after the latter athlete successfully appealed her scores, resulting in an upgraded bronze medal in the floor exercise event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Raisman, who also experienced the disappointment of a medal being withdrawn due to a scoring error at the 2016 Rio Olympics, said she could relate to the emotions that Jordan Chiles must have gone through. "I know exactly how she felt," Raisman said in a statement released on social media. "It's such a helpless feeling when you know you did everything you could, but the outcome is out of your control."
